Strawberry Fish Gallery

Strawberry Fish News

I can't believe it is November already. Christmas will soon be here.

I have lots of lovely new stock for christmas including funky ceramic cows and sheep by Ireland based Lynne Stratton, gorgeous wall and mantle clocks by Julian Spencer, dragonfly pictures by Gregg Dickens and the ever popular thuya wood and abalone shell boxes by Maria Santos Alcantara. I also have lovely charity christmas cards by designer Emma Ball.

I am starting to plan for the Elvetham Hotel christmas fair on Monday November 9th in Fleet. It will be a wonderful event with many local businesses present.

My artist of the month is Andrew Lievesley. Andrew works from his studio based in Hampshire. His landscape paintings are a response to the scenery he sees on his many walking trips throughout the UK and Europe. Usually painted in acrylic, but also with a content of mixed media he endeavours to add an element of abstract to his interpretations of wild scenery. Andrew is an enthusiastic long distance walker and photographer using many of the images found on his travels as a base for his work.

Robert Louth has produced a gorgeous print of Hartley Wintney which is ready mounted and only costs £25. £3 per picture will be donated to Children in Need. These pictures make a wonderful gift or christmas present.

Do pop into the gallery for a mooch around. You are bound to be inspired!!

My artist of the month is Camberley based Mary Jane Alexander originally from Zimbabwe, with her collection of delightful oil landscapes, blossom trees and Italian pictures.

I have decided to have a special offer for the whole of September. I have reduced all my own jewellery designs by 25% so come and treat yourselves to a hand crafted piece of jewellery or do some early Christmas shopping.

Talking about Christmas (yikes!!), I have just booked a stall at Elvetham Hotel on Monday 9th November 6 until 9pm. This will be a delightful fair with many stalls run by local businesses. Do come along to support them and buy your Christmas gifts.

August monthly update

I have been running the gallery for 6 months now and am absolutely loving it. It has been a wonderful new challenge and I am enjoying meeting all my lovely customers.

Sales in jewellery and Glover and Smith pewter are particularly high and sales in artwork is on the increase with Andrew Lievesley and Mary Jane Alexander selling particularly well. I have a wonderful new artist called Terry McKivragan who works in acrylics, oils and watercolours in beautiful pastel colours. I have bought 3 of his pieces myself!! My latest addition to stock has been stunning pewter and abalone shell wood boxes by designer Maria Santos Alcantara. They sold out straight away but more are on the way.

The gallery now offers an award winning picture framing service which has been proving very popular so dig out all your prints and pictures that need framing and bring them in. Bespoke mirrors are also available.

New stock is arriving all the time so do drop in to have a good browse. We are now open on Sundays too!! I look forward to meeting you all.
